Now Is The Time To Schedule That Fall Tuneup

We tend to take our heating and cooling systems for granted. We use them every day, and many of us don't think about maintaining them until they break down. Then we realize how vital they are to our comfort (and sometimes our safety). Getting a tuneup now can avert major repairs and breakdowns later, not to mention the associated costs and hassle.
A fall tuneup of your equipment usually begins with an HVAC technician making a thorough inspection of all of components, great and small, to check for damaged parts. Degraded parts may be replaced to prevent the need for major repairs later. Your system's parts also will be cleaned to ensure they perform as efficiently and effectively as possible.
A service check in the fall prepares you for the upcoming Cincinnati winter. Your gas and oil connections will be secured to make sure there are no harmful leaks. Your burner will also be inspected for cracks to make sure it is operating safely.
There are a number of other routine steps performed during a tuneup that help boost your system's performance. Among them, your technician will:
- Check the condensate drains.
- Lubricate your equipment's moving parts.
- Verify the accuracy of thermostat settings.
- Tighten all electrical connections.
- Inspect the system controls.
Ignoring preventive maintenance may come back to haunt you when you need your heating system the most. Now is the ideal time to make sure you are prepared for the winter and don't have a lapse in your heating service.
